Updates on the wellbeing of a trio of Liverpool stars have been provided, on the back of the club’s latest outing.
The Reds, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
After the club’s first-choice stars got the better of Manchester City in the Community Shield a little over 24 hours ago, game-time was on this occasion afforded to a heavily altered XI, in a friendly meeting with French outfit Strasbourg at Anfield.
The Reds were ultimately put to the sword in convincing fashion by the day’s visitors, courtesy of a brace on the part of Adrien Thomasson, either side of a strike from Habib Diallo.
It was not the result which took its place centre stage in the post-match press conference held by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, however.
Instead, this came in the form of the latest injury news across his squad.
Alarm bells were set ringing early in the 2nd-half on Sunday, upon Ibrahima Konate limping out of proceedings with a knee problem.
This came with Naby Keita and Curtis Jones already absent from the hosts’ setup owing to illness and injury respectively.
Klopp, in turn, went on to provide updates on all three, with the news, for the most part having proven of a positive nature.
Crucially, the German tactician confirmed that Konate’s latest issue ‘doesn’t look too concerning’, ahead of the defender undergoing medical scans over the coming days.
