Liverpool vs Man United
Bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head this coming Sunday.
In the Sir Alex Ferguson era, it was largely the Red Devils who dominated this fierce clash.
But in recent years, the roles have been very much reversed, with Liverpool now arguably the best team in England.
The Merseyside powerhouse will head into the weekend’s Premier League action with a commanding 14-point lead atop the PL.
Jurgen Klopp’s side also have a game in hand on 2nd placed Manchester City, and are yet to lose an English top-flight clash this term.
As for Man United, they are currently down in 5th place, five points adrift of a Champions League spot.
However, United should take solace in the fact that they are the only side to have taken points off Liverpool in the league this campaign, drawing 1-1 at Old Trafford back in October.
Klopp on Fabinho, Lovren & Matip
Ahead of the clash with Man United, Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on three Liverpool stars.
Joel Matip, Fabinho and Dejan Lovren have all been sidelined for the European champions recently due to injury.
This has, of course, left Liverpool somewhat short-staffed in the centre-back department:
But when speaking about the aforementioned trio, Klopp seemed quite positive that they will be back soon:
“I wait really until they are on the pitch and somebody tells me they are allowed to do the full session.
“It looks like Joel will be in, it looks like Fabinho will be in maybe a day later, I’m not sure. Dejan, maybe he can be in as well.
“That means a lot and helps massively of course. But we will see how it looks. The week is very important.
“The game on Sunday against United, we all know what people expect from us from that game. It will be a big one as well and we try to be ready for that.” As quoted by Liverpool’s official website.
