Jurgen Klopp speaks about ‘mind games’ from Arsenal boss Unai Emery

No mind games

Jurgen Klopp has claimed Liverpool are only focusing on themselves ahead of their big game with Arsenal.

It’s a key couple of games for Liverpool as they look to keep their momentum up in terms of the race for the league title.

The Reds are six points clear and beating Arsenal would be another huge step towards the title.

Klopp was asked if Emery is trying to ramp up the pressure ahead of their game.

He spoke with Sky Sports and said:  “That is not how I know Unai Emery.

“I don’t think they will have the white flag and say ‘no chance’. It will be a really tough game, because they are good.

“That is all I am interested in and all the rest is a nice little game, where people respond to your questions and you make stories of the answers.

“We are focused on ourselves and that is all.”

A great position

It’s a brilliant time for Liverpool.

They were accused earlier in the season of not clicking.

However, things are going well for the Reds now.

Titles are often won and lost at Christmas when the fixtures come thick and fast.

Liverpool are winning their key games, whereas City have lost their last two.

Given they went into the month clear at the top of the table is a huge collapse, but Liverpool have done well themselves to focus on winning their own games.
