Jurgen Klopp: ‘Roberto Firmino is more consistent than Mohamed Salah’

Jurgen Klopp interview in the Mail on Sunday

The Daily Mail’s Ollie Holt has published a new interview with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Sunday.

Liverpool take on Tottenham in the Premier League today.

The match could be highly significant in the race for the top four. Liverpool are third in the league, Spurs are fifth.

Roberto Firmino vs Mohamed Salah

One the most eye-catching comments made by Klopp to the Mail on Sunday came when the Liverpool manager compared his star players.

Klopp compared how Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all perform week in, week out. The German commented:

Mo Salah, world class, but not every day. Sadio Mane, world class, but not every day. Roberto Firmino, world class, pretty much every day.

For the record, Salah has 19 goals and six assists in the league this season.

Firmino has 11 goals and five assists in the league, while Mane has six goals and five assists in the EPL.

Liverpool vs Tottenham

Tottenham head to Merseyside after their fantastic midweek display against Manchester United.

Spurs tore United apart at Wembley with Chrisitan Eriksen scoring the Premier League’s second fastest goal of all time before a Phil Jones own goal settled the match.

On the night before, Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners against Huddersfield with Mo Salah scoring yet again in the Premier League.

Tottenham have one of the best away records in the league, winning half of their away matches this season.

Liverpool are one of only two sides who are yet to lose at home this season in the league.

Tottenham ran out 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture earlier in the season but the two sides are very evenly matched on paper.

Klopp will have to organise his dodgy defence well enough to prevent Harry Kane from scoring his 100th Premier League goal (although he could well be saving it for next week’s match against Arsenal).
