Kieran Tierney agrees new five-year deal with Arsenal

Kieran Tierney has agreed to a new five-year deal with Arsenal, according to a report on Friday morning.

Tierney’s Arsenal stint

Kieran Tierney joined Arsenal in August of 2019, departing Scottish powerhouse Celtic for a fee reported to be around £25m.

The full-back has since gone on to feature 62 times across all competitions for Arsenal.

And, despite his only previous domestic experience having come in Scotland, Tierney has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water, having quickly cemented a name for himself as one of the best left-backs in the English top-flight.

Tierney agrees new Arsenal deal

On the back of a fine first two seasons in England, which saw him help Arsenal win another FA Cup, reports recently began to emerge that Tierney was set to be handed a new contract.

The 24-year-old’s current deal at the Emirates is set to run until the summer of 2024.

Now, though, the reliable Chris Wheatley of football.london is reporting that Tierney has agreed a new five-year deal with Arsenal, which is set to be signed imminently.

It is added that the Gunners are also in the market for a backup left-back this summer. 101 have previously covered some of the players whom Arsenal could target as cover for Tierney, which you can read about here.
