Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva’s heated exchange during Man City vs Napoli (Video)

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was tonight caught on video intensely arguing with Citizens teammates David Silva and Fernandinho at half-time of his side’s clash with Napoli.

Fascinating affair

The two sides went head to head in a matchup at the Etihad this evening, with both having enjoyed scintillating starts to their respective domestic campaigns.

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri yesterday claimed that he hadn’t watched many of City’s matches this season, as he did not want to get too ‘depressed’ ahead of tonight.

However, it didn’t take long for the Italian tactician to witness first-hand just what his side’s opponents were capable of, with an early double having left the Neapolitans shellshocked.

Raheem Sterling, who has been on fire of late, notched his 8th goal in 11 games to put Pep Guardiola’s men ahead with just 9 minutes gone, before an inch-perfect cross from Kevin De Bruyne set Gabriel Jesus up to double the home side’s lead 5 minutes later.

Tight finish

Napoli competed bravely and could easily have earned themselves a point, with Dries Mertens missing a first-half penalty, before Amadou Diawara took responsibility and slotted a penalty of his own for the visitors with 73 minutes on the clock.

But it was not to be for Maurizio Sarri’s men, as City held on for a crucial 3 points.

One player who was singled out for special praise throughout the matchup was Manchester City midfielder, who has been in incredible form so far this season.

His first-half performance was particularly entrancing, with the Belgian’s combination of wonderful touch, pinpoint passing and masterful vision all coming to the fore in a major way.

However, while his showing on the pitch was a joy to behold, his antics before heading down the tunnel at half-time were a different story altogether.

Trouble in the camp

Having been frustrated with picking up a yellow card towards the end of the opening 45 minutes, De Bruyne attempted to remonstrate with one of the fourth officials after the half-time whistle had been blown.

Two of the midfielder’s Citizens teammates, Fernandinho and David Silva, attempted to intervene, doing their best to ensure that De Bruyne wasn’t handed a second yellow card for dissent.

However, the 26-year-old, clearly fired up by proceedings on the pitch, refused to back down, leading to a heated exchange with Silva, during which he could be heard repeatedly shouting ‘let me talk!’
