Madrid fight back

Real Madrid returned to European action on Tuesday evening, in search of a bounce-back result.

Los Blancos, of course, emerged from the weekend’s La Liga action with a key victory over Barcelona.

But, a few days prior, Madrid were dealt a shock 3-2 defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

This left the Spanish champions sitting bottom of Group B when they kicked off against Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday.

And after Marcus Thurman netted his second of the evening with 58 minutes gone at Borussia-Park, Zinedine Zidane’s side appeared to be staring another rather embarrassing European defeat in the face.

However, late, late strikes from Karim Benzema and Casemiro ensured that Real were able to salvage a point on the day.

The video was posted by French outlet RMC Sport, and shows Benzema in conversation with fellow countryman Ferland Mendy at half-time of last night’s clash.

And, during the footage in question, the Real Madrid hitman appears to tell the left-back not to pass to teammate Vinicius Junior, who was playing on the left-wing in front of Mendy:
