Former AC Milan and Real Madrid star Kaka has given brilliant his reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest Ballon d’Or glory.
The Brazilian is the last player to win the trophy other than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The pair have dominated the competition for the past 10 years and it’s coincidentally been 10 years since Kaka won.
Ronaldo won the award in 2008 which would be his first while playing for Manchester United.
Then came a four-year period of domination from Lionel Messi at Barcelona, winning the accolade from 2009 to 2012.
Ronaldo then won in 2013 and 2014 before Messi returned to win his fifth golden ball in 2015.
Since then, Ronaldo has won the previous two editions in both 2016 and 2017 to bring their totals level.
Though, many pointed out on Thursday evening and Friday morning that the last player bar those two to win was the Brazilian Kaka.
Kaka also revealed last night that it’s actually a good thing for his career that Messi and Ronaldo keep winning!
“This year is ten years since I won the Ballon d’Or and every time Cristiano or Messi wins it’s good for me because everyone remembers mine,” he explained.
He’s certainly not wrong but you cannot deny that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking to make that more than 10 years.
Lionel Messi is already the early favourite to win the 2018 edition of the Ballon d’Or.
Kaka on the Ballon d’Or:
“This years is ten years since I won the Ballon d’Or and every time Cristiano or Messi wins it’s good for me because everyone remembers mine.”
