Sheffield United 3 – Chelsea 0
It was a bruising day for Chelsea on Saturday as they lost 3-0 at Sheffield United.
David McGoldrick was the hero for the Blades after he scored twice in the match.
McGoldrick opened for United after 18 minutes, while he scored the killer third goal 13 minutes from time.
Oliver McBurnie fired Sheffield United 2-up after 33 minutes.
The win lifted Sheffield United above Wolves into 6th. The Blades have 54 points.
Chelsea are 3rd on 60 points, although they will drop out of the top 4 if Leicester and Man United win their games in hand.
Kai Havertz unlikely to sign for Chelsea if they don’t qualify for the Champions League
On Sunday, Sport Bild’s head of football, Christian Falk has claimed that Chelsea are unlikely to sign Kai Havertz if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Christian Falk has noted that Havertz is trying to Bayer Leverkusen because the club has not qualified for Champions League.
To be clear, however, this update doesn’t strictly rule out Havertz’smove to Stamford Bridge if the Blues are only playing Europa League football next term.
Update @kaihavertz29 & @ChelseaFC: Havertz wants to leave @bayer04fussball already this summer because the club has not qualified for Champions League. Because of that it would be important for @ChelseaFC to qualify for Champions League to convince him

What are Kai Havertz’s other options?
The truth is that Kai Havertz doesn’t have too many other options besides Chelsea.
After signing Leroy Sane from Man City, Bayern Munich are out of the race for the 21-year-old playmaker.
Meanwhile, while Real Madrid continue to be linked to Havertz, the Spanish side don’t seem to have the funds to convince Bayer to sell.
By contrast, Bild have reported that Chelsea are willing to meet Bayer’s €100m valuation for Havertz, however the Blues are looking to structure the payment through instalments.
The German outlet suggested that Chelsea could offer €70m up front and €30-40m at a later date.
Kai Havertz agents told to Bayer Leverkusen he wants to leave the club if an “important bid” will arrive on next weeks.
Chelsea board have contacted Havertz agents and Kai “would like” Chelsea as next step because of the project – also Werner would push him to join. 🔵 #CFC

Havertz will consider talks about personal terms (until 2025) if Chelsea will make an official bid to Leverkusen soon.
Bayern Münich out of the race for this summer after signing Sané.
Bayer asked today again €90M as price tag and have not received any official bid yet 🔵 #CFC

Man City’s big day on Monday will be important for Chelsea
Currently, 5th place in the Premier League carries a Champions League qualifying spot.
However, that could change on Monday if Man City win their appeal against UEFA’s 2-year European ban.
For the record, Pep Guardiola is confident City will win their case.
However, if they don’t, and Chelsea finish 5th, that will be good enough for the Blues.
Also, Chelsea are still in this year’s Champions League
Chelsea face a daunting task to reach the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League.
The Blues lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich in their last-16 first-leg at Stamford Bridge.
Bayern have since gone on to win the Bundesliga title once again.
