Juventus target misses training with Fiorentina, move ‘imminent’

Serie A side Fiorentina have revealed that star man Federico Bernardeschi will miss training for the next four days, with a move to Juventus thought to be close.

Bernardeschi has long been touted as a potential star of the future, with his stellar performances for Italy at the European U21 Championships this past June only increasing interest in the versatile Viola star.

The 23-year-old can play anywhere across the midfield, and has been hailed for his brilliant vision and hammer of a left foot, which helped him to notch 14 goals and 5 assists across all competitions last season.

It was revealed earlier this month that the 9-time capped international had informed Fiorentina of his desire to move on this summer, with Juve, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all reported to have made contact with the player’s representatives.

However, it is the Bianconeri who have shown the most concrete interest, with boss Max Allegri having personally requested the purchase of Bernardeschi at the beginning of the summer.

On the move?

And, according to a growing number of reports in Italy this evening, the talented Italian is now closer than ever to joining the Old Lady.

Fiorentina confirmed via an official statement today that Bernardeschi is set to miss the next four days of training due to ‘acute gastroenteritis’, though this is widely regarded as an admittance that their crown jewel’s move to fierce rivals Juventus is now imminent.

A 40 million Euro fee is said to have been agreed between the sides, with the minute detail of added bonuses all that is left to be resolved.
