‘Fascinated’ by Premier League
Juventus defender Leonard Bonucci has admitted his fascination with the Premier League.
His latest comments, reported by Sport Witness, have only added to the speculation linking him with a move away from Juventus.
Both Chelsea and Man City have been linked to the Italian defender.
Bonucci helped the Old Lady keep a clean sheet in their 3-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday night.
Chelsea and Man City linked
Bonucci has worked successfully under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte during his time in Turin, while Man City’s Pep Guardiola is in need of summer reinforcements at the back.
In 2016, Guardiola hailed Bonucci as one of his ‘favourite ever’ players.
In this month’s issue of So Foot magazine, the centre-back has finally responded to the praise.
“When the best manager in the world says you’re one of his favourite players, you act like it’s nothing, but you still can’t help but have a smile on your lips,” Bonucci said.
“This praise only confirms my important progress. It’s always nice.”
Giving his thoughts on Premier League, Bonucci said: “It fascinates me. When I can, I watch English games, and not only for the quality of the players on display.”
“I love the passion that exudes from their packed stands.”
Bonucci’s current deal at Juventus only expires in 2021.
