Juventus star Gonzalo Higuain posts and removes Dani Alves farewell

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has today posted a goodbye message to Bianconeri teammate Dani Alves on social media, before quickly removing the gesture.

Turin departure

Despite having only arrived at Juve from Barcelona last summer, Alves has been persistently linked with a move away from the Italian champions, with Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea said to be the favourites should a move materialise.

The failure of the Old Lady to offer the Brazilian a long-term contract is reportedly at the centre of such rumours.

Ciao Dani?

And the actions of one of Alves’ Bianconeri teammates this afternoon seem to suggest that the stories linking the defender with a new adventure may not be too far off the mark…

Higuain’s deleted social media post read as follows:

‘It was a pleasure playing with you. I wish you the best and hope to spend time together again soon.’

The message was quickly removed, as mentioned above, but the Argentinian’s actions seem to suggest that an agreement has likely been reached for Alves to depart the Juventus stadium, with the club just waiting for the right time to announce the news.
