According to a report from Italian website GianlucaDiMarzio this evening, Italian champions Juventus have identified Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa as their main priority in the coming transfer window.
While links between the Bianconeri and the Brazilian winger have been touted on numerous occasions in the past, tonight’s report claims that Juve have today taken a step forward in negotiations, keen to get the deal done early.
Although the Champions League finalists are increasingly confident of getting a deal done, a number of other European heavyweights are said to be monitoring Costa’s situation with the Bundesliga giants.
PSG are thought to be the Old Lady’s main rival in the race for the former Shakhtar Donetsk star, but both Liverpool and Manchester United are also said to be in the running.
While Costa had looked a genuine star during his debut campaign at Bayern, he was unable to showcase his abilities to as much of an extent this season, with manager Carlo Ancelotti preferring the wide pairing of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
