Paulo Dybala’s off the field problems
Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera are not known for breaking big football stories, but on Tuesday, they have revealed a crazy amount of information regarding Paulo Dybala.
The 24-year-old is considered in some quarters as a player that can conceivably take over from the current dominance of the Ballon d’Or by Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Whilst Dybala could also emerge as the long-term Argentine replacement for Leo Messi.
Dybala started the season in incredible form, scoring hat-tricks for Juventus in both August and September.
The last couple of months has seen Dybala’s form dip alarmingly, and he started Sunday’s win over Bologna on the bench.
What has happened to Paulo Dybala?
Corriere della Sera reveal that Dybala has major issues with his agents that were first realised last September.
Paulo Dybala’s agents are now his brothers Mariano and Gustavo. They took over from Italian agent Pierpaolo Triulzi.
Juventus were keen on superagent Mino Raiola to run Dybala’s affairs but that job now seems to be in the hands of Mariano Dybala.
Just 36, Mariano Dybala has already managed to show some naïveté by severely straining his relationship with Juventus.
Mariano Dybala’s trip to Paris
Corriere della Sera reveal that Mariano Dybala made a recent trip to Paris and met with the hierarchy of Ligue 1 giants PSG.
Mariano Dybala reportedly told his brother Paulo: “Neymar will go to Real Madrid and you are the right one to replace him”.
PSG did not reveal said meeting with Mariano Dybala, but Juventus were alerted when his girlfriend posted pictures from Paris on Instagram.
Juventus also believe that Mariano Dybala has offered Paulo to Barcelona and Manchester City.
Juventus pull contract talks & image rights negotiations
Juventus are now treating Mariano Dybala with disdain, to the detriment of brother Paulo.
After playing in the Champions League final and for the Argentina national team, Dybala’s family hoped to push their man onto another level in terms of marketing.
However, Juventus have now pulled new contract talks – Dybala is contracted to Juventus until 2022.
And discussions over Paulo Dybala’s image rights (speculated to be worth 90 million euros) are also on hold.
What now for Paulo Dybala?
Paulo Dybala is now in a very uncomfortable position, with both his own family and former agent Pierpaolo Triulzi.
The Juventus attacker owes compensation to Triulzi and is feeling “surrounded”, “lonely” and “isolated”.
Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio tried to bridge the gap between Juventus and their star player, but according to Italian media reports, this only made Dybala’s relationship with the Old Lady even worse.
Dybala has been on the bench for the last two Juventus games. Now this information is out in the open, it will be fascinating to see how the Argentine gets on in the coming matches.
(Mariano Dybala’s Instagram is now private, despite having over 31,000 followers.)
