Marcus Rashford on Juventus’s radar
Manchester United and England star Marcus Rashford has been attracting a lot of attention from Serie A outfit Juventus, according to The Times.
Rashford came on as a sub as Manchester United came from behind to beat Juventus 2-1 in a recent Champions League clash.
However, it is understood that Juventus have been tracking Rashford for some time.
With Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic now 32 years of age, Juve could well be looking at Rashford as a potential replacement for the Croatian.
Especially given that like Mandzukic, Rashford can be deployed either down the middle as a centre-forward or as a left winger.
Is Rashford being wasted at Man United?
While no price has been put on Rashford by Juventus, you would assume it would take a hefty fee to sign the 21-year-old.
Marcus Rashford is a product of Man United’s youth academy with his current deal running out in July of 2020.
But will Rashford actually want to sign a new deal with the Red Devils?
Since breaking into United’s first team Rashford has made 1386 appearances in all competitions, scoring 34 and assisting 18.
However, it is often argued that Jose Mourinho is hindering Rashford’s development.
Mourinho often deploys a very defensive style that forces his attackers to come back and defend.
Mourinho will also hardly ever play Rashford as a striker, which is his natural position.
This has certainly stopped Rashford from scoring as much for United as he probably should be.
This can be seen when comparing Rashford’s Man United and England stats.

The youngster has made 13 appearances for United this season and scored just two.
But for England, Rashford has already scored three goals this season in far fewer games.
So, maybe a move to Juventus would be a smart career choice for the England international.
