Juventus eyeing Man United’s Nemanja Matic on free transfer – Sun

Matic’s time in Manchester

Nemanja Matic joined Manchester United in July of 2017, moving from Chelsea.

Manchester United are believed to have paid in the region of £40m for Matic’s services.

Matic has gone on to play 89 games across all competitions with Man United, scoring three and assisting three.

However, the 31-year-old has not played too much for the Red Devils so far this season.

Matic only made the bench in United’s first three Premier League outings this campaign.

He was then used for just 22 minutes when Man United drew with Southampton.

Matic has also recently spoken out about sitting on the bench a lot this season:

“I have been in football for a long time, I have played almost all the games for all the clubs in the last ten years. In order for me to play, one had to sit on the bench and accept that fact, and so do I now.” As quoted by the Sun.

Matic would start on Saturday in United’s 1-0 win over Leicester, but he didn’t complete 90 minutes, being taken off in the 67th minute.

Juve eyeing Matic

Matic is currently contracted to Manchester United until July of 2020, but United are said to have an option to extend his deal for an extra year.

However, Matic could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the near future.

According to the Sun, Juventus are keeping close tabs on Matic’s Man United woes.

The report from the Sun also claims that Matic losing his spot to Scott McTominay has been ‘hard to swallow’ for the midfielder.
