Following weeks of speculation regarding whether or not Serie A giants Juventus would complete a deal for Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick, both clubs have this evening revealed that the move has been called off.
It was announced over a month ago that a deal had been agreed between the sides over Schick’s transfer, with the player even having completed a medical with Juve.
However, following several weeks with no official announcement of the transfer’s completion, a number of stories began to circulate surrounding potential problems with the deal.
It was speculated by sources in Italy over the past week that a cardiac issue had arisen during the Czech Republic international’s medical tests, though Sampdoria strongly denied these claims.
Though the official reason for the transfer’s collapse has not been revealed, both clubs have released official statements regarding the matter this evening, confirming that the decision not to send Schick to Juventus was made mutually.
