Liverpool 5-Huddersfield 0

Liverpool hosted Huddersfield on Friday evening as they looked to return to the top of the Premier League.

The Reds night got off to a perfect start as Naby Keita put them 1-0 up inside a minute.

Sadio Mane then doubled their lead in the 23rd minute with Mohamed Salah making it 3-0 on the stroke of half time.

Mane and Salah would both add second goals in the second half making it a comfortable 5-0 win.

The pressure is now on Manchester City who travel to Sean Dyche’s Burnley on Sunday.

Van Dijk injury update

While Liverpool are focused on the title race, they must now turn their attention to Barcelona in the semi-final of the Champions League.

Liverpool travel to Spain for the first leg this coming Wednesday.

Ahead of the game, there was a small fear that Virgil van Dijk may not feature as he looked to pick up a knock during the Huddersfield smashing.

However, Jurgen Klopp has since come out and calmed any fears that the Dutchman will miss the UCL tie:

“No [injury], nothing. I asked him, he said, ‘No, no, all good.”
