Jurgen Klopp provides updates on Jota & Matip ahead of Liverpool vs Burnley
Liverpool vs Burnley
This week’s Premier League action will continue on Thursday evening, when Liverpool play host to Burnley.
The Reds head into the tie in desperate need of all 3 points, amid a serious dip in form.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are winless in their last four league outings – a run which has seen them slip down to 4th in the English top-flight, four points adrift of top spot.
However, they shouldn’t have too much of an issue picking up a win against the Clarets.
Liverpool are at home on Thursday, and of course boast a remarkable 68-game unbeaten streak at Anfield in league action.
Burnley, meanwhile, despite the common perception that they pose a nightmare threat for big clubs, actually possess an awful record against the ‘top-six’.
Against Liverpool, for example, they have managed just a solitary win in all competitions since 2005, a stretch which includes a hefty 9 defeats.

Jurgen Klopp on Jota & Matip
Ahead of his side’s meeting with Burnley, meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp held his latest press conference on Wednesday.
During the presser, Klopp discussed a number of topics, including squad fitness.
The two players whom the German provided updates on were Joel Matip and Diogo Jota.
The former has been a big miss at the back over recent weeks, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez of course also sidelined. Jota, meanwhile, was beginning to come into his own before picking up an injury late last year.
When drawn on the pair on Wednesday, though, Klopp confirmed that Matip is back in full training, with a decision regarding his involvement vs Burnley set to be made tomorrow.
As for Jota, he is still ‘a few weeks away’ from a return:

“Joel is in full training, and now we have to make a decision. We will see tomorrow.
“Diogo is still a few weeks away. He needs time.”#LFC
