Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has, late on Monday, provided an insight into the wellbeing of midfielder Naby Keita.
For those not aware, Guinean international Keita was forced to sit out the Reds’ latest outing this evening.
This came owing to an unspecified fitness problem picked up in the buildup to the clash, meaning the 27-year-old is yet to take to the pitch in the Premier League in 2022/23.
Speaking on the back of the action coming to a close in Manchester, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his struggling midfielder’s wellbeing was put to Jurgen Klopp.
And the German tactician went on to reveal that the injury in question occurred during a training session on Sunday, with imminent medical tests set to unveil the extent of the damage:
Elsewhere in his post-match media duties, Klopp also piqued attentions courtesy of his take on how the action played out over the course of the 90 minutes at Old Trafford.
Liverpool, of course, were put to the sword by two goals to one on Monday, amid the widespread agreement that their defeat was altogether deserved.
The Reds’ boss, however, is evidently of a different opinion, having not been at all shy in insisting that Liverpool ‘should have won this game’:
