Jurgen Klopp provides alarming Roberto Firmino update after Liverpool's win over Norwich


Liverpool's Fab Three could be reunited

 

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on the wellbeing of Roberto Firmino, on the back of the club's meeting with Norwich City.

The Reds were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Dean Smith's much-improved Canaries to Anfield amid their ongoing pursuit of Premier League table-toppers Manchester City.

And, when all was said and done on Merseyside, Klopp and co., for the time being at least, did manage to close the gap on the Sky Blues to six points.

Goals on the part of all of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz proved enough to guide Liverpool to their latest triumph, after Milot Rashica had earlier handed Norwich a shock lead following the interval.

Firmino latest

As alluded to above, though, on an otherwise positive afternoon for Liverpool, all associated with the Reds will no doubt have had their spirits dampened by the latest news surrounding Roberto Firmino.

Brazilian international Firmino was of course a last-minute absentee from the Reds' matchday squad on Saturday, owing to a muscular issue picked up in training.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp was therefore inevitably asked for an update on his key attacker's wellbeing.

And, in a blow for club and player alike, the German went on to confirm that Firmino is set to remain out of action 'for a while'.

News of the former Hoffenheim man's latest fitness concern of course comes with Liverpool already without the services of another member of the club's frontline, in the form of the sidelined Diogo Jota.
