Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Friday’s Champions League draw, which saw his pulled out the pot to face Manchester City, is a dream draw for Manchester United fans.
Whilst Liverpool knocked out FC Porto to reach the quarter-finals of the competition, United crashed out at the hands of Seville, courtesy of a shocking Wissam Ben Yedder brace at Old Trafford.
The Reds will host the Premier League leaders on 4 April and then travel to the Etihad for the second-leg six days later.
The German manager has admitted that facing Manchester City is set to be a difficult prospect – but acknowledged that any other side Liverpool had of drawn would have been tricky.
He also took a cheeky dig at Man United by stating claims that Liverpool vs Man City is their dream draw with one side guaranteed to exit the competition.
Klopp poked fun at the Red Devils by saying:
“I think it is an absolute dream draw – for Manchester United fans.”
“I really don’t mind we will have plenty of time to prepare before then.
“Yes so I didn’t expect anything I didn’t wish anything, I don’t think it’s good in the Champions League if you play against a team from own country, but at one point it’s pretty clear you will play them.
“It didn’t matter who we got, I knew it would be difficult. And it’s difficult. Manchester City will be difficult.
“It doesn’t look like Christmas and Easter in the same day. It’s the last eight in Europe and if that would be easy then something is wrong.”
