Jurgen Klopp hails ‘outstanding’ Arsenal star as Mo Salah reveals how he watched Liverpool’s triumph
A pair of noteworthy post-match updates surrounding Liverpool’s Carabao Cup meeting with Arsenal on Thursday have come to the fore online.
The first comes in the form of a head-turning quote on the part of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp’s men made the trip to north London a short time ago, eventually emerging on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline to book their spot in the finale of the Carabao Cup.
Diogo Jota proved the star of the show at the Emirates, bagging a brace to set up a meeting with Chelsea late next month.

When drawn on the prospect of a showdown with Thomas Tuchel’s European champions, though, Jurgen Klopp was instead keen to shift the attention away from his side’s latest showpiece occasion.
Instead, the Liverpool boss opted to highlight just how impressed he was with the display of one up-and-coming member of Arsenal’s squad.
The player in question? Gabriel Martinelli:
Completely unprompted (he was asked about Chelsea in the final), Jurgen Klopp says: “Martinelli by the way… everybody should remember that name. Outstanding player.”

Salah watches on
Elsewhere, one of those to have missed out for Liverpool at the Emirates has revealed how he kept up to date with proceedings in the capital.
Taking to social media, Mohamed Salah, currently on international duty with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, confirmed that he was supporting his teammates from afar courtesy of the following photo:
