Juan Mata provides fitness update before Man United vs Watford

Man United vs Watford

Once the international break draws to a close Manchester United will play host to Watford.

United have eight league games left to play and are on the cusp of a Champions League place.

Heading into the tie with Watford United sit in 5th place, two points behind 4th place Arsenal and three points behind Tottenham.

Spurs will also likely drop points this weekend as they are away to Liverpool and in very poor form.

United themselves are experiencing a slight dip in form though, losing their last two games vs Arsenal and Wolves.

As for Watford, they sit 8th in the table, winning three of their last five outings.

Mata fitness update

Ahead of the game with Watford, Juan Mata has once again graced us with his weekly blog update.

On this week’s blog, Mata started by discussing his fitness.

The Spaniard has missed United’s last three league games through injury but he did manage four minutes in the FA Cup defeat vs Wolves.

Speaking about his fitness pre-Watford, Mata wrote:

In terms of training sessions, this week has been a very positive one for me. I have made the most of the chance to get in top shape after making my return in the FA Cup not long ago.

I am feeling good and I am looking forward to doing whatever I can to help the team as much as possible.
