Josh King injury latest ahead of Watford's clash with Man United

Watford boss Roy Hodgson has provided an update on the fitness of star attacker Joshua King.

Hitman King was of course hooked early in the Hornets' latest outing on Wednesday night, limping out of proceedings with what appeared to be a back injury.

In turn, with his side set to return to action in just three days' time when they make the trip to Old Trafford for a daunting showdown with Manchester United, Roy Hodgson was inevitably asked for an update on the wellbeing of his stricken star.

The Watford boss, though, was unable to provide much insight into the situation, admitting that he is currently unaware of the severity of the problem:

Eagles run riot

King's injury woes of course marked just the tip of the iceberg when it came to a miserable night's work all round for Watford on Wednesday.

The capital outfit welcomed Crystal Palace to Vicarage Road for a Premier League clash, with spirits having no doubt been high in the camp ahead of kick-off owing to a 1-0 win at Aston Villa in the club's prior outing.

Hodgson's troops, however, were soon brought crashing back down to earth, courtesy of an alarming defeat.

Goals on the part of all of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Conor Gallagher and Wilfried Zaha (2) saw Patrick Vieira's visitors emerge on the right side of a 4-1 triumph, culminating in Watford slipping to the depths of 19th in the English top-flight table.
