Jose Mourinho takes sly dig at David Moyes pre Man United v Sunderland

Manchester United host Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, in what should be a great opportunity for Jose Mourinho’s side to continue their fine form.

United have won four on the bounce and are now in touching distance of the top four in the Premier League.

Sunderland come into the match in 18th, having beaten Watford in their last Premier League match.

Mourinho’s sly dig at David Moyes

In the early hours of Boxing Day, the embargoed pre Manchester United v Sunderland press conference was released.

One journalist asked Mourinho whether David Moyes had a harder task than Jose Mourinho, with the Scot replacing Sir Alex Ferguson. At the time Manchester United were champions.

Mourinho’s reply was cheeky: “I wouldn’t mind to be at club with great expectations. With Giggs, Chicharito, Vidic, Evra.”

The Manchester United boss also said that he feels his side should be second in the Premier League, following their performances this season.

Mourinho is also asked if the Manchester United job is the “impossible job” and whether the role is a “burden”.
