Manchester United are set to show faith in left-back Luke Shaw.
The fullback is nearing a return to first-team action following another lengthly injury layoff.
The England international has not played since suffering ligament damage in his right foot in April.
According to the Times, Mourinho is will offer Shaw a new deal to stay at the club.
Shaw’s current contract expires at the end of this season.
Shaw has had a difficult time at Old Trafford since his move from Southampton in 2014.
With a price tag of £30 million to live up to, Shaw made a promising start to his United career.
However, Shaw has since been plagued by injuries and a few poor performances have made some United fans question his ability.
Shaw does not have a timescale of when he’ll be back playing for the first team, although he has returned to training to build up his fitness levels.
Good news for Spurs
The news will be a slight relief to some Spurs fans.
United keeping Shaw means that one less team will be after Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, whose future at White Hart Lane is looking increasingly uncertain.
It could, however, provide a clear pathway for Chelsea to sign the full-back.
