Jose Mourinho misses the ball vs Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho rests Man United title hopes on one player

One player

Jose Mourinho is reportedly placing all his title hopes for next season on Alexis Sanchez, and it seems that the player could well be the one to lead them to glory.

He’s been underwhelming since the turn of the season, and despite that – along with his struggles to fit into the side and work well with other players like Paul Pogba, it seems that Mourinho thinks he can improve and be the player United fans felt they’d signed back in January.

It’s not just Mourinho who puts stock in Alexis, other players have also praised him and think that he enjoys playing with freedom and fun.

Victor Lindelof poured praise on Alexis after the game against Swansea, and said: “I think Alexis also had a very good game and he showed his movement and quality with the ball is great so I am very happy for him.

“The front players had great movement and had a great buzz between them.

“They had a lot of freedom and I think they showed it out there – they had a lot of fun.”

Spending

Mourinho might be betting on Alexis come next season, but there’s no denying that he will spend a huge amount of money come the summer, and many people think United will be in the market for five or six players – with the likes of Gareth Bale being mentioned – and after his lacklustre response from Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal against Juventus, it could well be he is on the move this summer.

United will also look to get rid of a huge amount of players, and Luke Shaw seems to be top of that list, after falling out with the manager over and over again.
