Mourinho sacked by Man United
Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in December of 2018, after a poor start to the 2018/19 Premier League season.
United were down in 6th spot, and looked very unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.
After being sacked by Man United, Mourinho spoke about how one of his greatest achievements as a coach was to finish 2nd with United the previous season:
“If I tell you, for example, that I consider one of the best jobs of my career was to finish second with Man United in the Premier League, you will say, ‘this guy is crazy,'”
“‘He won 25 titles and he is saying that a second position was one of his best achievements?’
“I keep saying this because people don’t know what is going on behind the scenes.” As quoted by ESPN.
When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer first took charge of United, and went on that unbeaten run, people probably thought that Mourinho was talking rubbish.
However, once that initial impact of having a new boss with new ideas wore off, United looked much poorer, and ended up finishing the season back down in 6th place.
Mourinho learning German
Since leaving Man United, Mourinho has spent a lot of his time as a pundit.
However, Mourinho has also reportedly turned down a staggering €100m managerial offer from China.

With the 2019/20 season fast approaching, it doesn’t look as though Mourinho will be in charge of a club when the season starts.
In a recent interview, though, the former Chelsea boss spoke about how he is learning German.
While Mourinho did say that he isn’t learning the language to manage in Germany, he refused to rule out a future job in the Bundesliga:
“I’m studying German. To work in the Bundesliga? No. It’s because I know English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and German is missing me.
“I do not rule out any possibility, not even Germany.” As quoted by A Bola.
