Jose Mourinho hits back at media reports of Paul Pogba ‘bust-up’

No relationship issues with Pogba

Jose Mourinho has moved to end any speculation surrounding his relationship with Paul Pogba.

The Man United manager spoke to the media, and said that they’ve been together for over two years now – and have never been in a better place.

There have of course been many stories about Pogba and Mourinho – and the breakdown of their relationship, yet Mourinho has claimed the duo are fine.

Sky Sports report he said:  “The truth is we are together for two years and a couple of weeks, I’ve never been so happy with him as I am now.

“I cannot demand more from him, I cannot ask more from him. He came here on a Monday, he trained three days, I asked for his support, contribution in a match where we had difficulties.

“He did it, did it better and for more time than we could expect.

“When he says he did it for the fans and for the team it’s exactly what I want.”

Captain Pogba

Not only did Mourinho praise Pogba, he also said the player will keep the captain’s armband for the next game.

It’s a huge gesture of faith from Mourinho, who will hope to see a similar show from Pogba against Brighton after his great display against Leicester City.

Anthony Martial fine

One relationship that doesn’t seem to be going all that well is between Mourinho and Anthony Martial.

Mourinho admitted that he did fine Martial following the pre-season tour, where Martial went AWOL.

The United boss added that he doesn’t make a habit of fining people – and clarified Pogba has never been fined during his time as manager.
