Jose Mourinho discusses the Man United future of Marouane Fellaini

By Scott Morris

Will he stay or will he go?

Jose Mourinho has been discussing the future of Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini with his contract set to run out this summer.

The Belgian has had a mixed time following his move from Everton, sometimes unplayable, sometimes unable to get on the pitch.

Currently, Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the player and he is certainly looking for the player to stay beyond his current contract.

Though, rumours persist over a Fellaini exit with the player continuously refusing new deals at Old Trafford.

Now, Jose Mourinho has explained that he does not know whether the midfielder will leave or whether he will stay.

‘Is he going to stay or leave? I don’t know,’ said Mourinho.

‘I want him to stay, the club want him to stay. The process – negotiations, numbers, distances between the offer and what he wants – I really don’t know.

‘He’s still a young player. His injury, he had a little surgery but minor surgery, and he will be back to play again in a couple of weeks.

‘So if we proceed in the Champions League after Sevilla, I think he will be ready for a hypothetical quarter-final, a hypothetical FA Cup semi-final, for the last couple of months of our Premier League fight.’

Turkish sides Fenerbahce and Besiktas have been linked with moves for the Belgian and look to be the likely destination right now.

Another player who will likely leave the club in the summer is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish striker has had an up and downtime at Old Trafford but his time is seemingly up.

Jose Mourinho confirmed the news in his press conference on Friday.
