Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has defended Claudio Ranieri in his press conference and paid homage to the Italian.
The Portuguese manager also explained that Leicester should name their stadium after Ranieri following what he achieved for the club.
For those with short memories, Claudio won the Premier League nine months ago, before a poor season this term cost him his job.
Against their 5000/1 odds, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy fired the Foxes to the title.
Now, following Ranieri’s sacking, there has been much sympathy for the Italian coming from all corners of sport.
Mourinho’s homage in his press conference certainly did speak volumes.
“It’s my little homage to somebody that wrote the most beautiful history of the Premier League,” he explained.
“Somebody who would probably deserve the Leicester stadium to be named ‘Claudio Ranieri’, and he’s sacked.”
