Mourinho plays complement to Everton

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that Marco Silva’s Everton share the same ambitions as his side do.

It’s been a struggle for Mourinho so far this season with several poor results piling the pressure on him at times this campaign.

Though, Manchester United’s results are starting to pick up following their clash with Newcastle a few weeks back.

The Old Trafford side came back from 2-0 down to win the game in what was a big result for Mourinho.

That was followed up by a good performance against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Mourinho’s men looked as though they were going to come away from London with all three points but a late Ross Barkley goal dashed their hopes of that.

Do Everton really have the same ambitions?

Everton have also had a resurgence over the past few weeks.

They have won three games on the run against Fulham, Leicester City and Crystal Palace and are on fire right now.

Now, Jose Mourinho has paid them the biggest possible compliment.

That is because he has claimed that Everton have the same ambitions as Manchester United do.

How you perceive that is up to you, whether that is a comment on Man United’s recent history or Everton’s lofty ambitions.

“We knew the club would move in that direction, very good players, players from Barcelona,” he explained to reporters this morning.

“So that is the level which Everton wants to reach. Their ambitions are very similar to our ambitions.”

While that comment could be taken several ways, Manchester United fans weren’t too happy about it.
