Former Manchester United player Tommy Docherty has claimed that he thinks Jose Mourinho won’t last very long at Manchester United, given his ego and way of dealing with things.
He said that it simply doesn’t fit with the club, and it seems that the board will eventually run out of patience with him.
He said: “If he was made of chocolate he would eat himself.
“You can’t argue with his record but I think he goes over the score with his criticism of players. He has bought those players and then he is criticising them afterwards.
“I would be amazed if he lasts any length of time at Manchester United. I don’t think the board will put up with his antics.
“I don’t watch them a lot because I watch Manchester City a lot – because they are great to watch. They play football the way I like to play it.”
Mourinho’s future has come into question on several occasions this season, after United fell far behind Manchester City in the title race, were knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Sevilla and it seems that he has also run into issues with key players in the squad.
There has even been talk of a feud with Paul Pogba that is so bad, the player may even leave the club in the summer – yet Mourinho has said that there is no issue and the player will be included in squads and games, as long as he complies with his instructions and plays for the team.
