The United board
Manchester United’s board are ready to back Jose Mourinho as the big wigs at United grow increasingly tired of Paul Pogba.
The Mirror report they are happy to back Jose Mourinho, despite results this season.
Ed Woodward and co were initially very reluctant to sell Pogba.
That was down to his value as a commercial asset. Yet his behaviour this season has now become so poor, they would rather get rid.
Barcelona are keen on Pogba, who also wants to leave, and now United could facilitate that.
Mourinho is backed
The board think Mourinho is right to strip Pogba of the captaincy and also make a stand against him.
The Mirror also add they’re becoming increasingly concerned that Pogba has annoyed them with his comments and attitude.
The issue of Mino Raiola – an agent Sir Alex Ferguson notoriously disliked and refused to work with – has also become a big problem at the club.
I obviously don’t agree with Raiola but that is all it seems to be, a defence of his player following some criticism of a bad performance.
Fergie was right about this guy though!

Pogba wants to leave
Mourinho is aided by the fact Pogba wants out.
If Pogba wanted to stay, it may be more of a battle, with Pogba putting up a fight.
The player and his agent have refused to deny a move to Barcelona would be welcomed. It looks like a case of both player and manager wanting the board to sell.
Is it true Paul Pogba has told Mourinho he wants to leave #mufc and join Barcelona. Raiola: “I have no comments”. Can you deny that Pogba has told Mourinho he wants out and to go to Barca? “I have no comments”.

At this point, the relationship between Pogba and Mourinho looks to be untenable. The headlines it’s creating will anger the club even further.
