Jose Mourinho vs Ed Woodward
The Mail on Sunday recycle an old story from Man United’s 2018-19 pre-season this weekend.
Less than a week before the start of the new Premier League season, Man United’s two most important employees aren’t on the same page.
It’s reported that Man United’s chief executive Ed Woodward and manager Jose Mourinho barely communicate.
Considering that there are just a few days to go in the summer transfer window, that’s far from ideal.

‘Awkward’ Man United meeting vs Real Madrid
So what evidence to the Daily Mail bring to back up their report?
The Mail hark back to the meeting between Woodward and Mourinho in the tunnel before the recent pre-season friendly with Real Madrid. Readers are told:
Jose Mourinho is on a collision course with Manchester United chief Ed Woodward just five days before the start of the new Premier League season.
Mourinho was on Saturday night no nearer to getting the two new signings he wants before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
It has emerged that Mourinho’s awkward encounter with Woodward in the tunnel after United’s final game in Miami was their first meeting of any kind on the 17-day trip.
Spotted this last night in the mix zone after Real Madrid v Manchester United. Ed Woodward running after his manager shouting “Jose, Jose.” Finally stops his man and I’ll let you decide the conversation… #MUFC #Mourinho #ICC2018

Man United’s defender search
But are the Daily Mail accurate in their reporting?
Over in the Mirror on Sunday, it’s reported that Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld could join Man United in a 60 million pound deal by Tuesday.
At the same time, Man United’s hopes of signing Barcelona’s Yerry Mina are to be fading fast.
