Jorginho overtakes Eden Hazard with goal for Chelsea vs Everton

The Italian was responsible for the opening goal at Goodison Park

A head-turning statistic surrounding the production of Chelsea star Jorginho in front of goal has come to the fore on Saturday evening.

Thomas Tuchel’s troops, of course, are currently locked in action.

As part of the opening round of fixtures of the Premier League campaign, the Blues have made the trip to Goodison Park, hopeful of getting their season off to a positive start at the expense of Frank Lampard’s Everton.

And, as things stand, all three points are precisely what Chelsea look headed towards.

The aforementioned Jorginho proved the man on target, stepping up to slot home in trademark style after Ben Chilwell was felled in the Everton penalty area.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, Chelsea’s midfield metronome secured for himself an altogether impressive benchmark.

Jorginho’s spot-kick on Saturday marked his 18th converted in the Premier League whilst on the books of the Pensioners.

This marks one more than club icon Eden Hazard managed across his own time at Stamford Bridge, guiding Jorginho into 2nd on the all-time list in west London:
