Juventus 1 – Ajax 2
Juventus are out of the Champions League following a 2-1 home defeat to Ajax.
It’s been a remarkable campaign for Ajax, who started the year playing three qualifiers just to get into the group phase.
They’ve seen off challenges from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, before their recent triumph in Turin.
Ajax booked their place in the final four the hard way.
Cristiano Ronaldo put Juve 2-1 up in the tie with a header in the first half.
However Ajax were soon level when Donny van de Beek found the target in the 34th.
Dutch centre-half Matthijs de Ligt won the match for Ajax with a header midway through the second period.
Ajax will now play the winner of the Manchester City versus Tottenham quarterfinal.
Spurs are 1-up in that tie before Wednesday’s second leg.
Joao Cancelo promotes Juventus hate
Joao Cancelo has been a bit-part player for Juventus this season.
Against Ajax he was brought off the bench in the second half for Mattia De Sciglio.
The 24-year-old has plunged himself into confrontation with people at Juventus after he liked an aggressive post criticising the Bianconeri. The message read:
Excluding Ronaldo, Juventus is just a shit team. Don’t understand how professional players and coach can be so stupid. Hate you Juventus.
"Hormis Ronaldo, la Juventus est une équipe de merde, je ne comprend pas comment des joueurs professionnels et entraineurs peuvent être aussi stupides. Je te déteste Juventus"

Joao Cancelo is the key forward passer in Juventus' bizarre ball progression system. His absence seems like it takes a lot more off the table than De Sciglio can add. https://t.co/r7XbHw98aK
