Jesse Lingard has noted Radamel Falcao is someone England need to keep their eye on ahead of the two teams meeting in the knockout stages.
Falcao of course spent time in England, and while he struggled for both Chelsea and Man United, he found his form again at Monaco after leaving the Premier League and is certainly red hot right now.
Lingard made it clear that Falcao is the danger man England need to watch, especially when he’s in and around the box.
Standard Sport report he said: “He’s a great finisher.
“In and around the box, he’s lethal.
“We will be aware of that.”
The game is set to be massive for England, and given so many big sides have already failed to get past the group stages and first knockout rounds, there’s nothing to say England can’t go on and really impress in Russia.
Lingard made that point, and said that while Colombia are a good side, England have got this far and need to make sure they cause issues and attack and not just worry about defending.
He added: “It was an amazing feeling against Panama.
“Of course you think about it (lifting the World Cup), but you can’t get too carried away at this current stage.
“Colombia are a tough side, and we will have to be at our best on the day to do the job and move on to the next round.
“They are a great side, a tough side. We are aware of that, but our qualities and our threats can cause some problems as well.”
