Three Jerome Boateng Photoshops

In May 2015, when Jerome Boateng was turned inside and out by a certain Leo Messi, you could not get away from the many memes and photoshops that ridiculed the Bayern Munich central defender.

As proof of that, it is worth watching this video which has now garnered close to 1 million views.

Of course, anything involving Leo Messi has a good chance of going viral, but Boateng must be wondering on Monday why his incredible goal line clearance did not inspire more internet photoshops following Germany’s 2-0 win over Ukraine.

Boateng’s incredible goal line clearance

Late on in the first half of Germany’s 2-0 win over Ukraine, with the world champions 1-0 up, Boateng produced a ridiculous goal line clearance to keep Jogi Low’s side in the lead.

Manuel Neuer was, for once, nowhere to be seen, and Boateng produced an epic clearance off the line to keep Germany in front going into the half-time break.

There seems little doubt that Boateng’s save came at a crucial time in the game and with a somewhat shaky defence, with Mats Hummels still injured, it could well be a goal line tackle that is looked back on as crucial the further Germany progress in Euro 2016.

After and during the Germany win over Ukraine, three Photoshop images went Viral.

The first one features Boateng involved in a Street Fighter match. Another is of the Bayern Munich defender and a whale.

But, by far the best one, which is apparently doing the rounds in Germany today, sees Boateng appear in the famous image of England’s third goal in the 1966 World Cup final.

See all three Photoshops of Jerome Boateng’s goal line clearance below. Surely he deserves more!

Boateng himself, marked the clearance on Instagram with a fine snap, that was also doing the rounds…
