Javi Gracia gives Watford injury update before Newcastle

Newcastle vs Watford

Watford travel to Newcastle on Saturday in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

The Hornets beat Woking 2-0 in the 3rd round while Newcastle had to take Blackburn to a replay before eventually progressing.

As for their recent form, Watford currently sit 7th in the Premier League but they have only won one of their last five, drawing three.

Newcastle, on the other hand, have lost three of their last five, picking up a 3-0 win over Cardiff in their last game.

With Newcastle fighting for relegation and Watford pushing for a European spot, both sides are likely to play weakened sides on Saturday.

Watford injury update

Ahead of the game, Javi Gracia has provided an injury update on some of his players.

Will Hughes missed Watford’s last game vs Burnley but is back in training ahead of Newcastle.

Craig Cathcart is also expected to return after missing their last fixture:

“Will Hughes is ready. He is training, Craig Cathcart as well. Both are available for the next game. Sebastian [Prodl] is injured, he is in the recovery process. Kiko [Femenia] is injured after the last game. He has a little problem in his hamstring.”

Watford will, however, be without star midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure on Saturday:

“Doucoure… needs to rest and wait more time because he is out of the team.”
