Javi Gracia gives Watford injury update ahead of Cardiff

Watford vs Cardiff

Watford take on Cardiff this Saturday as they look to put an end to their poor run of form.

The Hornets head into the weekend’s games in 12th place with 21 points from 16 games.

However, Watford have failed to win any of their last five league games, the latest being a 2-2 draw with Everton on Monday.

As for Cardiff, their form has improved a lot recently with the newly-promoted side winning three of their last five.

This has put Cardiff up to 14th in the league. But it is generally only at home were Cardiff have improved.

On the road, Cardiff have scored just three and conceded 15 this campaign.

So, Watford will be hoping to capitalise on Cardiff’s poor away form in order to finally pick up a much-needed win.

Watford injury update

However, Watford will have a fair few injuries to deal with heading into the Cardiff game.

Andre Gray missed Watford’s 2-2 draw with Everton on Monday and Javi Gracia expects the striker to once again miss out this weekend:

“He had a contusion in a training session. We have to wait, but he is out for the team for sure. I don’t know if he will be ready in a couple of weeks or a long time.”

As well as Gray, Watford will also be without Adalberto Peñaranda, Will Hughes and Sebastian Prödl through injury.
