Watford vs Brighton
Watford will kick off their 2019/20 Premier League campaign on Saturday, August 10th vs Brighton.
The Hornets have had a decent pre-season, picking up wins against Bayer Leverkusen, QPR and Real Sociedad in their last three outings.
Watford would finish last season in 11th place in the English top-flight, seven points adrift of 7th spot. They also reached the FA Cup final.
As for Brighton, their last outing saw them beat Spanish outfit Valencia 2-1.
The Seagulls have a new manager this campaign, in the form of Graham Potter.
Watford injury update
Ahead of their first PL game of the season, Watford boss Javi Gracia has been speaking about the club’s injury concerns.
Gracia claims that while some players have problems, he believes everyone will be ready for the Brighton clash.
The Spaniard then goes on to speak about Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra.
Gracia is hopeful that Deulofeu will be back in training on Tuesday, while Pereyra has returned after being on international duty with Argentina for the Copa America:
“We have some players out with little problems but I think all of them will be ready for the next game.
“Gerard is maybe training with the team on Tuesday. I think he will be ready.
“Pereyra finished later than the rest of the team.
“After three weeks of rest he started to train. Now he is training in a hard moment. He is training some days with the team, others alone.
“He will be ready for the game [against Brighton], not at his best level, but he will be ready to compete.”
