Champions League hopes
Former Liverpool star and suspended Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has given his first interview after a spitting incident with a Man United fan.
The former defender was suspended by Sky after he was caught on video spitting at a Manchester United fan who goaded him over the score at the weekend and his daughter.
Carragher has received much criticism for his actions and has had his media duties severely limited for the rest of this season.
Though, in his first interview since the incident, Carragher has been discussing Liverpool’s Champions League hopes.
While he admits it will be tough, he certainly feels like Jurgen Klopp’s side has a chance.
“Of course it would be tough,” he explained.
“Yes, the usual suspects are still there favourites-wise, but coming to Anfield, no one will want to play Liverpool. That’s the mentality you must have.”
“You don’t get to the last-eight without the best teams in Europe being there.
“Honestly, it wouldn’t worry me too much who Liverpool were drawn against.
“What would it be? You’re four games away from a final, two of those would be at Anfield and you’d have to fancy yourself at Anfield, with Liverpool’s record at home.
“Whoever Liverpool get it will be a tough game, but it will be a tough game for them as well with the front three Liverpool have.
“With Anfield and the atmosphere there, it will be electric if they got one of the huge names…and let’s face it everyone is a huge name in the last eight.”
