Arsenal v Tottenham
The aftermath of Saturday’s match between Arsenal and Tottenham continues to fuel conversation.
Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez pulled Arsenal to within one point of Tottenham in the Premier League.
And Arsenal were more than good value for their 2-0 win in the north London derby.
Whether or not the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli were still carrying knocks may have been a factor.
But the Gunners put in one of their best performances for years as they deservedly took the three points on home soil.
Jamie Carragher on the Gunners v Spurs
On Monday Night Football, pundit Jamie Carragher waded into the big Arsenal v Tottenham debate.
Has there been a power shift in north London?
Prior to Saturday’s game, many may have argued that Spurs are now a bigger and better team than the Gunners.
But Carragher put forward the case for why Arsenal remain top dog over the Lillwhites. He said:
Tottenham just have the edge and will finish above Arsenal this season, but a power shift, no.
It has to be five or six seasons where you finish above your rival. I think a big foreign player would choose Arsenal.
Until we start treating Tottenham like we treat Arsenal, the Manchester clubs and Liverpool, that’s when you think they have overtaken them.
