Jamie Carragher praises Liverpool over Xherdan Shaqiri transfer

A shrewd piece of business from LFC

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has praised the club for signing former Stoke forward Xherdan Shaqiri after he impressed against England on Tuesday.

The Swiss attacker had a fairly decent game despite not scoring or assisting and looked a handful.

Since joining from Stoke after they triggered his £13million release clause, he has looked a steal.

While he won’t start all that often, he will no doubt impress off the bench.

Now, Jamie Carragher has been talking about the forward.

Carragher is a fan of Shaqiri

The Liverpool legend was speaking following the England game and it’s safe to say he likes the player a lot.

“I think it’s a brilliant buy for Liverpool.” Carragher explained to Sky Sports, as cited by the Daily Mirror.

“He’s been around a long time at big clubs and has great experience.

“You look at the price tag, his age as well, he will (make an impact). He made an impact at Leicester when he came on.

“If Salah comes off, is he ever going to replace him?

“I don’t think he will replace him as a starter but to bring him off and bring him on.

“He did make a difference when he came on (against Leicester).

“He plays more centrally for Switzerland, so maybe that’s something going forward for Liverpool also.

“He’ll want to put himself in the limelight because of the huge games coming up for Liverpool in the next month and he will want to be a part of it.”
