Liverpool vs West Ham
Anfield will be jam-packed next Saturday as Liverpool launch their 2018-19 Premier League campaign.
There’s an amazing amount of optimism around Liverpool right now.
Could this finally be the year Liverpool win the championship?
Jurgen Klopp, of course, has yet to win a trophy since joining the Reds.
Liverpool begin the new season with a home match against West Ham.
West Ham, like Liverpool, have made several exciting signings in the summer transfer window.
James Milner injury update
Liverpool have one final warm-up match before West Ham, as the Reds face Torino this midweek.
On Saturday Liverpool thrashed Serie A side Napoli in Dublin.
The only black mark for Liverpool was a head injury suffered by James Milner.
Milner opened the scoring for Liverpool being claiming an assist for the second goal too.
Milner was instantly taken off after his head injury, and after the game Liverpool posted the following update:
James Milner received 15 stitches following his clash of heads during Liverpool’s 5-0 friendly win over Napoli on Saturday.
The No.7, who scored the Reds’ opening goal at the Aviva Stadium, left the field early in the second half following a collision with Mario Rui.
And Jürgen Klopp confirmed Milner had had 15 stitches when speaking to Liverpoolfc.com in the tunnel post-match.
The hope is that Milner will be OK for the West Ham match next weekend. Yet, considering the extent of the head wound, Milner is a doubt.
