Man United vs Man City
Manchester will be gripped on Wednesday when United face City in the derby at Old Trafford.
Local rivalries will be heightened in midweek as a positive result for United would hand their eternal enemies Liverpool a major shot in the arm.
Liverpool are two points above the Sky Blues in the table, but City have a game in hand.
If Man City win all their remaining matches they’ll be crowned champions.
Liverpool need City to drop points, and the derby against United appears the best chance of that happening.
Liverpool’s James Milner gives his prediction
Ahead of the Manchester derby, James Milner has given his thoughts on the match.
Milner has spent his career playing for Man United’s greatest rivals.
He’s played for Leeds United, Man City and now Liverpool.
Yet, the Red utility star has admitted he’ll be supporting United this week for “the first time in my life.” Milner also said the following:
I don’t watch them, to be honest. It’s a bit of a waste of energy, isn’t it? Willing the ball into the goal and things like that. I can’t do anything about it.
United will be a challenge [for City], but it’s the old cliché – any game is tough in the Premier League no matter who you play.
To try and win a league title is not easy. Trust me, I know. Remember QPR [in 2012]? To beat anyone is tough when it is all on the line. We’ve still got some tough games ourselves, and we have to win those and keep the pressure up.
All we can do is keep asking them questions and keep winning our games. That’s all we can control. We know they’re a top team and they’ve done it before. They have a great points total but so have we.
