Jadon Sancho to miss Dortmund’s first Champions League clash with Man City

Jadon Sancho to miss Dortmund’s first Champions League clash with Man City

An update on Jadon Sancho ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s first-leg meeting with Manchester City has emerged recently.

Man City vs Dortmund

The Champions League returns to our screens once again next week.

There are still three English sides left in the competition. Liverpool have been drawn against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, Chelsea against FC Porto and Manchester City have been paired up with Borussia Dortmund.

Of said trio, it is probably Man City who do look the favourites to advance the furthest in the competition.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side do not have the best record in the knockout rounds.

The Citizens have been eliminated at the quarter-final stage in the previous three campaigns, with every exit coming against a side they probably should have been beating.

So, whilst Dortmund aren’t in great form this term and could well fail to make the top-four in the Bundesliga, City fans are still no doubt nervous about their side collapsing next week.

Jadon Sancho to miss first Man City test

Ahead of the first leg tie, though, it appears Man City have been handed something of a boost.

Along with Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho is, on paper, one of BVB’s best players.

However, Sancho picked up an injury recently that would see him miss out on the latest international break with England.

And now, according to The Times,  Sancho is set to miss the first-leg of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final against City, which takes place on April 6th.

But it is added that Sancho may be available to play some role in the second leg which takes place eight days later on Wednesday the 14th of April.
