A hilarious exchange between former Arsenal teammates Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczęsny has come to light on Instagram today.
North London spell
The pair were Gunners teammates from 2009 up until this summer, though both spent numerous spells away from the club on loan.
However, Szczęsny has since permanently moved on, having joined up with Italian giants Juventus this summer.
And a brilliant back-and-forth between the duo on social media last night has highlighted the fact that they were actually roommates during their early years at Arsenal.
Wilshere posted a photo of himself as a teenager on Instagram, along with the caption: ‘#tbt to the digs days and living with the mad man Wojciech Szczęsny. Can’t believe he let me have my hair like this.’
He also added: #stilllookingbetterthanhim in a cheeky dig at his former teammate.
Szczęsny, long known for his sense of humour, quickly hit back with a rather harsh response in: ‘Was that when you were still good at football?’
However, it was definitely Wilshere who had the last laugh, as he finished the exchange with: ‘No it was when you threw the Carling Cup away from us’, in reference to the Polish shotstopper’s howler versus Birmingham City in the League Cup final in 2011.
